From the moment you step inside, it’s clear that Bowl'd Bbq Alameda focuses on quality and comfort. The interior is relaxed, with a clean and modern aesthetic that doesn’t detract from the main star: the food. The menu is packed with a variety of barbecue classics, but the real highlight is their unique take on smoked meats, served in bowls that allow you to combine flavors in creative ways.

A standout feature at Bowl'd Bbq Alameda is their dedication to using locally sourced ingredients. This not only supports the local economy but ensures that every meal is fresh and flavorful. Their smoked meats are tender and juicy, with a depth of flavor that only slow smoking can bring. Whether you choose the pulled pork, beef brisket, or their signature chicken, you can taste the hours of careful preparation that go into each dish.

What makes Bowl'd Bbq truly shine is their customization options. You can build your own bowl, picking from a selection of meats, sides, and sauces. This flexibility allows for a personalized experience-perfect for anyone who loves to experiment with flavors. From smoky mac and cheese to tangy coleslaw, their sides are just as impressive as the meats. You’ll definitely want to try the garlic bread, which pairs perfectly with their rich and flavorful barbecue sauces.

Many customers rave about the Bowl'd Bbq Alameda's brisket, which has a beautiful smoky crust, melting tenderness, and a deep, beefy flavor that hits all the right notes. A recent review mentioned how the brisket was so flavorful, it didn’t even need any sauce-though the variety of house-made sauces, including a sweet and spicy blend, are a great way to add an extra layer of taste.

Beyond the main dishes, Bowl'd Bbq Alameda offers some creative takes on traditional barbecue sides. The smoked baked beans have just the right balance of sweetness and smokiness, while the cornbread is moist and crumbly. If you're feeling adventurous, try adding some jalapeΓ±os to your bowl for a bit of heat that complements the smoky flavors beautifully.

As for the atmosphere, Bowl'd Bbq Alameda offers a relaxed and friendly vibe. The staff are knowledgeable about the menu and happy to make recommendations. Our office orders lunch from here once a week. Food is great but consistency of what you get through doordash varies. Sometimes comes with all the fixings, awesome! Lettuce, ssamjjang, soup and sides. But sometimes a lot of these things are missing :*( still great food but when you get your lunch and items are missing its never fun.

The bulgogi was my favorite <3 we spent $35/person before tip. It was nice to not smell like meat after leaving too since it was all cooked in the back

Came here right when they opened on a Saturday, and we were the first customers. The food is great (recommend the bossam and fried chicken), but slow service. We had to get the waitress attention several times to refill our water, and later on they asked if we wanted boxes when I was still eating my food (literally chopsticks were flying around; and there were chewing actions happening). The portion was small for the price. Four orders and the three of us ate everything, no extra for to-go.

We were visiting Oakland for a couple days and ended up walking past this place as we were craving kbbq. The service was great but the food was even better! Usually, we would have a lot to take home, but we almost cleared this whole thing. The banchan really tasted like they took care of each item. Next time were in town we will be stopping by

Solid korean food after a session of windsurfing! Good: - Kimchi pancake was very crispy and tasty - The carbonara pasta was unique and my favorite actually among the dishes we ordered, it was like a ramen Italian flavored - The potato pasta dish was okay, I liked the bone broth soup - Portion sizes were good! - Staff were nice - Good ambiance for a date, casual but still slightly nice Bad: - Took a while for our food to get there Overall I would come again, it was tasty!
